DIY Advent Calendar

As the Christmas busyness approaches,
we wanted to bring you things that would add joy.
Things that mean something, but won't "overwhelm" you.
Things that won't "break the bank", but add some sparkle.
Making your own advent calendar that would double as a Christmas decoration?
Yes, Please!
And we've included for FREE these adorable advent countdown numbers
for you to print at home.
Download is below.
Here's what you'll need:
- Brown Kraft paper (who doesn't love brown paper packages tied up with string?)
- Wooden Clothespins
- Twine or string (the red striped twine is my absolute favorite!)
- Scrapbook paper
- Scissors
- Wide Ribbon (1.5 inches wide, and long enough to hang all packages, maybe 4 yards to be safe)
- Items for packages
What to put in the packages?
These need to be small items that won't weigh down the clothespins.
Have leftover Halloween candy?
Perfect!
First, wrap all your little packages and tie them with string.
(I feel like breaking into song)
Cut them out and attach them to the front of your pretty packages.
Already so cute, right?
You can then either paint your clothespins, keep them a natural color,
or you can cut out whimsical Christmas paper liked we used,
and glue them to the clothespins.
Dress them up or down, it's up to you.
Add another piece of long twine, and attach it to your package.
Run your large ribbon where you want it.
Then, just start pinning up your packages!
You can put this anywhere.
It would be so whimsical and fun in a child's room,
or in a place where everyone gathers.
See...we didn't overwhelm you or "break your bank".
And we hope this adds joy to your season.
